Important winter safety reminders

As the snow piles up, remember these safety tips:

• Clear ice and snow from vent pipes.
• Use your hand or a brush to gently remove snow from the meter.
• Remove icicles that may drip water onto meters.
• Don’t bury vents or meters when using a snow blower or shovel.
• Keep walkways to the meter clear of ice and snow, for safety and accessibility during service calls and emergencies.
